My pet idea is that rather than targetting cancer, we should be trying to find and correct DNA-errors before they become cancerous. Otherwise we are just playing whack-a-mole with a slowly degenerating cell population.

So I'm just thinking here but I think leveraged buyouts can lead to moral decay. Like consider a business. It's making 9.5m profit per year. By engaging in various unethical practices that could be increased to 10.5m per year. But

Well here's your timeline: 1. Chrome had to support adblockers to outcompete firefox. 2. Adblockers were really powerful pieces of arbitrary logic making blocking them infeasible, so manifest v3 had to first be introduced to weaken the

People speak of these things in term of identity , but I wonder how true that is. I could easily imagine (pun intended) these are more akin to skills, that can be improved with practice. Actually now that I think about it, I do know that t

Well there is the famous old quote "Every time I fire a linguist, the performance of the speech recognizer goes up". Dates all the way back to 1988, believe it or not. Basically early approaches to getting machines to understand l

I get what you are saying, but normally this wouldn't matter too much right? You will have a small number of calls into the C-extension that together do a lot of work. So as a percentage the ffi-overhead is small.
