Seems like this could end up being an anti-trust issue.. Apple is stacking the deck in favor of its own ad platform. Using a competitive advantage in one industry to gain an unfair advantage in another. Which seems like the definition of an

Question. What tools are people using for architecture documentation besides Visio? What's the most productive tool you've found? I keep going back to Visio, but I really want a tool purpose designed for quick architecture diagram

Search is a really hard problem. And as the web scales, it's an increasingly expensive problem. (Servers, storage, bandwidth, etc.) I'd wager that it's easier to launch the next SpaceX than to launch the next Google.

I feel weird about what's happening in the browser. I can't put my finger on it, but something seems off... We're moving towards an operating system on top of an operating system (browser)... And now, node.js and other runtim

Given the margins on their ad business, Google's lack of customer support is holding back revenue growth. And feels like an asinine strategy. Apple Stores, and the ability to walk in and talk to a human, are one of the primary reasons

Love his summary. > The key to making programs fast is to make them do practically nothing. ;-) It is a great way to think about performance. Is there any way that I can write code such that I avoid this work altogether...?

I've always imagined that everything about who we are is backed up to the original cloud. (You could say, the real cloud.) And, in the resurrection, we will be 3D printed back into existence. I feel like any technologies we come up wit

This might be an easy question, but it's always bothered me... If gravity is caused by curvature of space-time (like I'm a train on a curved rail), doesn't that mean that space-time itself exerts forces? But if that's th
