Nice Article. Unlike what Der Spiegel wrote... They quickly associated the protestors with: Pegida, NPD, Front National, Bulgarian Ultranationalists, American Tea-Party and Donald Trump. "Wer nichts Schlimmes daran findet, sich gedankl

I only agree about the 'energy predicament' not being taken seriously. I don't think progress can be measured like he described. The steam-engine and frequency signaling where huge, transformed our society greatly and still a

With photorealism not being a speed problem but more of a artistic problem, i think its natural that tools focus on artists rather than programmers. Movie-like assets for games are hard, expensive and artists who master all the skills that

Very simple: Instead of making 200 requests, http2 will use a single requests and stream in the chunks continuously. Also noticeable by the pictures not appearing randomly but in the same order they are sent out.

Success mostly depends on the size of the team and their culture. Do they do code reviews? Refactor early and often? Is there a architecture plan that is enforced and trained to new hires? Frameworks do give you a corset to work within. I

Not trying to be cynical, but i am kinda glad that backbone is "over" for me. Been with it for about 5 years or more and i have seen big projects fall apart. You don't see the tree behind all the leafs after a year of coding.

Wow. This is the first time i played a really cool and addicting websocket/webgl game. Most games try to be too big for the current state of the platform. This nails it!

Do your apps run single-threaded? Why wouldn't you cluster? In-memory state is easily avoidable. Using in-memory sessions even prints a warning in express by default.

From my experience there are a few people in IT who can learn from this and start self-reflecting. They are NOT the majority but there are angry white sociopathic nerds. The monoculture is often criticized in the programming departments and

It basicly a wrapper around Promises. Nothing of your sync functions work until after you do syncify.revert which gives you a function taking a CALLBACK.

Yes. And a redesign. And a paid premium (200 chars) account. And a enterprise (500chars + in-tweet-auto-playing-video) option. There is clearly not enough advertisement on twitter, no wonder the users are running away.

I'm Looking forward to get a new Phone. I am however undecided on Firefox OS and Ubuntu OS. Leaning towards Ubuntu but this device looks like a first-gen smart phone... once you see the bezel you can not unsee it!

I feel discussing weed vs alcohol really tiresome too. I never had "paranoia" smoking weed and I never started bar fights or stole cars while drunk. It's a personal thing. If you smoke weed and jump out of windows or smash pe

Latency is low enough that nobody cares about making it faster. I was at a awesome ISP 10 years ago playing quake with < 10ms ping (through clever routing to certain servers). This is still unmatched, I would say that latency and connec

So far i only heard of o2 (telefonica) having bandwidth throttles and when you can choose o2 you can usually choose other providers. Most cities have local providers with really good connections, stable rates and no overly expensive prices.
