This sort of thing has Microsoft Access vibes about it. All AI is enabling is domain experts to spin up their own software systems with no understanding of how the systems should be put together. Sure it lowers the bar, and some people will

Presumably the surveillance team, and all the police about to bust down the door, are at locus in person? They already know the floor plan, occupants present, and there locations. No need to infer anything because they're under surveil

> Worth it. The kit pays for itself in 7.1 years; over 20 years it's good for about £1,095 net. This is my issue with this sort of thing. Am I going to have this kit in 7 years? Or would I upgrade to better stuff at the technology i

I used to use pandoc for my bachelors papers, which needed to be submitted as word documents. I never used templates but had a rather large "one-liner" pandoc command to convert my markdown files. At the time I'd not got roun

Ignoring the OTT scenario premise; if the surveillance team is able to detect movement like that then the surveillance team already knows where the laptop is. Why would you need a floor plan?

I was bought up C of E and went to a religious school. I can remember being a kid (maybe 6 or 7) and being forced to recite the lord's prayer and thinking "what is the point in this?". And then as I grew up still being confus

I just not that way included. I don't like clutter. And were it a 10 minute process id never use the service at all. Maybe I'm odd, I don't use social media either, and only use a single chat app currently on my device. I reg

I don't go out my way, I just change the default. The underlying reason is it's useless data, why would I keep it? I don't transfer chats when I move phones either so... I feel like you think there's something wrong with

My first reaction, without RTFA, is: hasn't stopped them before, why would not being legal stop US big tech now?

The only reason I default to 6 months is because 6 months appears to be the cut off after which the history is useless. It's occasionally saved my an arguement about what was agreed / said / planned. Otherwise I'd burn t

That's a weird reason. Thought process: I'm going to keep all my chats and in 20 years time run an analysis on them and write a blog post about it...

I wouldn't keep them in any context. I literally cannot see the point. Like I said I genuinely can't understand why you'd want to.

Hell no, I don't even think my school (British) did them. Nor would I turn up to a reunion. I'm not in contact with anyone I went to school with.

Why do people keep chats? I have none, oldest is 6 months which is when I set my chat app to delete them. I'm the same with emails. Genuinely don't understand why you'd want to keep this stuff. I'd never go back and rere

But so are pipes, right? Bash, and the many variants, powershell, nushell... Not to mention the languages that implement them with slightly different symbols (|> in R for example).

I'm coming from the point of view of nushell, or powershell, both of which can be used for data manipulation (tables and objects respectively). I love programming in nushell compared to something like this.

Like the other commenter elaborated for me. My mental model of how programs are composed much prefers the pipe symbol rather than chaining. There's also less typing too. But each to their own. Apparently a number of people disagree wit

So this is a Google issue that's biting developers because Google buggered around with what an API key is. Seems like Google needs to refund this guy and sort out the issue they created.

Bullshit. There's only 365(6) days in a year. Not everything can have a day. And passkeys as provided by adware vendors that want you locked into their services deserve one least of all.

This, this exactly. Uncomfortable and itchy to the point of keeping me awake until I take them out. Do not understand how anyone can sleep with them in!
