By just simply closing Issues/PRs and not engaging the community better, lots of developers are going to be reluctant to invest time/effort in using Angular Material 2 due to the potential of a future Angular Material 3 surge.

Long term disability insurance is crazy expensive in the USA. My wife got multiple quotes around $15,000 a year for a perfectly healthy 28 year old woman. It excluded back issues because she went to a chiropractor a few times. This was for

This was my experience as well. We built a decentralized authz/authn system that used signed tokens had a lot of trouble with revocations. In the end, we had to give up decentralization to get quick revocation right.

I can't speak to 2016 as we've only recruited one person this year. However, towards the middle and end of 2015 it was very hard to find good developers in Raleigh, NC. It seems like everybody noticed, too, and as a result salarie

This is very much true in experience as a developer in Raleigh, NC. The bigs ones are Java, C#, JavaScript (usually Angular, and a handful of Node.js jobs) in my area. Followed by Ruby. Python is usually listed as a nice to know and there a

Too bad the city of Charlotte was the city that passed the law in the first place. So you're taking a stand against NC by hurting Charlotte who was just screwed over by the state gov too.

I live in Raleigh and the startup scene is growing both downtown and especially in Durham next door. There is also a large corporate presence here too in a variety of industries so the job market is pretty solid. If you want to work in an o

I've found that there is no real standard definition of what OOP is and people get very angry when you say Go is OOP but it doesn't have inheritance. YMMV though.

Rust seems like a nice systems language, but is it really best suited for non-system programming? I may be too risk adverse, but it seems too early to make that bet at this point.

There is very little chance I could sell a CEO on using Nim. The fact of the matter is that the community and ecosystem are parts of the entire platform and the platform matters a huge deal when you're betting your business on it. Acci

The value of Go is: 1) Reasonably fast (better than Node at CPU bound tasks, faster than Ruby/Python) 2) Statically compiled 3) Great tooling (except package management, but it's getting better) If you want a reasonably fast stati
