{"foo":""} That's valid JSON that cannot be stored in DynamoDB because the value of "foo" is an empty string. See previous discussion: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13170746

I'd also like to remind anyone using DynamoDB: it cannot store empty strings. Let that sink in for a second. If you think you're going to be able to store JSON documents you'll be in for a nasty surprise when you try to inser

Wouldn't it make sense for a startup to begin in a single state and only expand once they have enough money/time to comply with laws and regulations in other states?

The orphaned words in that bulleted list is driving me crazy. Just throw an ` ` in between the two last words in each line and this will never happen.

It seems like this behavior should also be reported to the credit card companies. In the case of Steam, it seems like what you should do is have the credit card company charge back ALL the purchases you made if they ban your account.

Those are handled by `util.promisify()` by having the original function define special properties on itself `Symbol('util.promisify.custom')` and `Symbol('customPromisifyArgs')`. But it's not something handled by de

Promises only support a single success value so if you're "promisifying" something then you're only going to the second argument as the resolved value. The new util.promisify() doesn't provide said functionality [1]

Promisify is a super simple function to write yourself though. const promisify = (fn, ctx) => (...args) => new Promise((resolve, reject) => fn.apply(ctx, [ ...args, (err, data) => err ? reject(err) : resolv

The "tag" part of a tagged template literal is a function so maybe your editor should be updated to recognize them.

It could all be under the same AWS account, and all using the same IAM role. It's just that the role doesn't have access to anything. It can write logs to its own function-specific log group and read from them potentially. Also, a

I would be willing to be that they're using Lambda under the hood. The handler function signature looks identical. Edit: It is using Lambda!

I thought that's how the majority of languages worked. It just means the variable cannot be changed to reference a different value. It does not make the value immutable.

Does Spectical have a grid UI like that? I've only ever used keyboard shortcuts to position the windows using it. If it doesn't have that grid UI selector thing then I think it's fine.
