I just recently saw an ad for a pill version of these drugs which I didn't think was possible. Obviously everyone would rather take a pill than get a "jab" every month/week or whatever the cadence is.

react-query (or @tanstack/query as its now called) has a few things which make it a little awkward to use beyond very basic fetches: 1. No concept of normalization. Fetching a list of entity type vs fetching a detail of one of those en

Brilliant! I finally have a term for it. Though, while it does happen more often when I'm sick, it still sometimes happens when I'm not. Maybe I just have a hot-running brain. Anyways, thank you again for an actual term I can sear

I don't think this is the same thing as "noisy brain", but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this before since it sounded similar. Sometimes, typically when I'm sick and I'm trying to sleep through t

This is unfortunate since Pizza Hut is quite possibly the best pizza available in California. Does anyone from California know why the pizza selection is so awful there?

It's X11 which is asking applications what was selected when determining what will be pasted from middle click. To be secure X11 should be maintaining its own buffer which can only be updated via user interaction instead of relying on

I wish we could get a new HN guideline to not make comments for or against ligatures in monospaced fonts. You're not going to convince anyone.

Take this logic one step up: it's X11 which is allowing applications to set the middle click buffer. X11 should only be allowing that to be set from direct user-interaction as any application could be nefariously setting it.

I use dark reader, but I just know one day I'll wake up to news that it had secretly been sold a month prior and had been doing all kinds of nefarious things. This is inherently a problem with browser extensions that both auto-update a

One thing that bugs me about the "140% improvement" PR is that even the author only has some hand-wavy theory as to why that change from local variables to an object with those two properties made such a drastic improvement. V8 pe

Acting like Last-Modified is somehow substandard is a bit disingenuous. The If-None-Match (etag) request header takes priority over the If-Modified-Since (last-modified) request header (if both are sent), but they provide identical function
