Fantastic. The audio (as suggested by Knuth) is a nice touch. If people don't like it, they can easily mute.

That's a good one, but my all-time favorite is this one: Hillary Clinton used a hammer to smash her mobile phone during an FBI investigation. Mixture: It was not just one phone, but many, and it was one of her aides, not Hillary hersel

It was wild to me too. I have an .xyz domain, which seemed appropriate for a non-commercial math site. I'd try to send links of math experiments to friends and colleagues via SMS, so they could tell me if they worked right on their pho

Just in case people are reading something nefarious into Sowell's comment about Obama and Sharia law, he wasn't implying that Obama was a secret Muslim or the like, rather he was criticizing Obama's posture toward Iran, which

Shadowbanning is lying, plain and simple. I don't doubt that it works. Lying often works.

Black Lives Matter is still allowed on Twitter. Dozens of people have died from their protests and riots, not to mention hundreds of businesses vandalized, looted, and set afire. Ditto Antifa. This ban is utterly political, which, depending

That's my point. AP doesn't decide who won the election.

Joe Biden has added "president elect" to his bio. When Trump tweets that he won, Twitter flags it.

This is a cool idea. I did give it a spin and found that the fidelity between viewers was not all that true. For example, if I pause the video (as the room creator), the video gets paused for other viewers as expected, but not in the same p

I wonder if any of these concerned employees have ever listened to the rap songs Spotify so proudly hosts and promotes.

The fundamental problem is that our beliefs become part of our identity, and thus most of the time we're not actually seeking the "truth". This is obviously true when it comes to religion, and almost as bad when it comes to p

OK, thanks, good to know. That's not where it dropped me after signing up though—it put me on an app download page and it didn't look to be optional.

I've avoided Spotify for all these years because it always felt like it was part of the Facebook / Apple universe, which I generally find annoying. But I love Joe so I thought in preparation for this move, I'll go ahead and s

Here's another one that I think belongs on this list: NYC spent 6+ years and $13 million trying to reopen the Wollman skating rink in Central Park. In 1986, Trump negotiated a deal with the city for 2½ million, promising completion in

The best part of the book is the part about The Kennedy Portfolio, in Chapter 9. "Reader John Kennedy regularly passes along intriguing assembly programming tricks, many of which I've never seen mentioned anywhere else."

I once saw research that said English speakers utter about 4 words per second. Shannon once empirically determined each English word carried about 6 bits of information. For what it's worth.
