We got early access to the Steamship API and it's been awesome so far. Worth checking out if you want to add NLP to your application but don't have the expertise in-house.

As someone who used to work graveyards in an environment like this: buy yourself a desk lamp and save your sanity.

We went through S21, which was a large batch (400 or so). While we made great connections with folks in our little corner of the world, we definitely did not make a ton of connections broadly across the batch. In fact, we still meet people

The text this generates reminds me of the kind of text you'd see in a dream. The images look real enough, and the text looks like words; but totally unreadable. Kind of an uncomfortable feeling.

Our team is all default ON, but nobody is shy about turning it off if they need to do something that might be distracting or just don't want to be on video for any reason. It's a lot easier to visually signal agreement / disa

Is the fuel supply only designed to keep it in orbit? What happens when it runs out of fuel and leaves L2? Can it continue to do science while "on the float"?

Linux works amazingly well on these machines, fwiw. I have a modded x230 that performs surprisingly well with Arch. Ubuntu worked great on it as well. So many Linux users use Thinkpads that the chipsets are very well supported.

I jaywalk all the time and haven't been hit by any cars. How is it victim-blaming? What's the PC term for "crossing the street at not a crosswalk"?

TL;DR: Their neighbor was hit by a Waymo car being manually piloted by a human. Also, it might have been raining out, and the person who got hit might have been jaywalking? Either way, seems like an unfortunate case where a person got hit b

Don’t have anything to add to the survey, but I have fun with Nim every time I sketch something out in it. When I get more time, I’m looking forward to using it for some arduino development.

I left .net around the 2.0 days and came back with .net core 5.0. It's a world of difference, and absolutely worth checking out again. If anything, you don't need Windows to run it, and there's great tooling support outside o

C# is fast and .NET core is cross-platform. It's good for games, web, and mobile development. F# is a great functional programming language. There are fun tools like SignalR (easy websockets), Blazor (write C# and run it in the browser

I don’t own a car. I take public transportation everywhere. I recycle, compost, and consume very little electricity at home. Eating slightly more meat isn’t going to significantly change my environmental footprint.

An anecdote: I have been 100% carnivore for the past two months. The last vegetable I ate was in August. I’ve eaten 10 grams of carbs in that time period (in the form of vitamin C tablets early on), and zero fiber. My anxiety levels are sub
