Programming Scala is one of the best programming books I’ve ever read. Scala never stuck with me, but I’ve gone through the book a couple of times because it’s so well written and enjoyable to read.

This was a great blast from the past. A few friends of mine and I would write down instructions to draw crude pictures in Logo; the usual sorts of things you'd expect from kids (and one step away from calculator tricks that would resul

There were impacts to my mental acuity the day after that outweighed any benefit I felt I got. I will take an edible or vape something recreationally with friends occasionally, but it’s been quite rare the last few years.

I used to do this when going on long runs. The biggest quality of life improvement I found was that it was a lot less boring to run for 90 minutes. Perhaps because of that, those runs did tend to look better on paper. I always figured it wa

I've been using Zen for a couple of months now, and it's been really helpful in helping me stand up straight (I use a standing desk). Very unobtrusive and still works even though I'm on Zoom all day. The team is great too --

Really love this style of thinking. Tool building done well can have such a huge impact on everyone around you; especially if it’s easy to build good tools. We’ve been building something with this in mind; to try to make it way easier to fo

For teams that are concerned about whether their Slack is configured correctly, Abbot can be put into a waitlist mode where an administrator on the Abbot team has to explicitly approve any access. No matter how Abbot is configured, all comm
