I'm not sure in what way you mean "fight it out", but I'm glad that Heroku opted to start with Clojure... As a guy trying to get on the JVM, the experience of getting up and running with Clojure has been significantly easier and less "fiddl

A) Congratulations to the BackType team! I wonder if they're the first Clojure-heavy startup to be acquired. It will be interesting to see what happens to their technology stack after a couple of years. B) Does this impact the open-sourcing

I'm not saying that's the case here, but surely cryptographers are just as corruptible as everyone else. There's nothing preventing a scenario where someone with nefarious intent and a large pile of money convinces a skillful cryptographer

Auto spellcheck + auto grammar adjust would help some, but you'd still have troubles because of habitual use of colloquialisms.

Honestly, I think any kind of response is better than no response. If anything just to verify that the email got where it was meant to go.

If you're looking for a suggestion of things to do, I can tell you something that the posters of the original ad didn't do that rubs me the wrong way: Respond to people who have emailed you, even if it's just to say "hey we got your email".

I don't disagree with that sentiment for use during development; but for a long-lived application I don't think it's nearly as big a deal. I don't know about you, but I've personally found that after a few months of working on an applicatio

Couldn't you use inspectdb to introspect your Flask database and use Django's admin that way? You'd have to remember to do it every time you changed your database; but it'd probably get you most of the way there.

There's probably an opportunity for a freemium webgl powered MMO. (Paid for with something like an item store) "No software to install! Free to play! Click here and play with your friends in seconds!"

It's probably a futile exercise in semantics, but I believe that there is a difference between opining that GoDaddy is the best option currently available and thinking they're a great company.

Everyone knows that GoDaddy isn't a great company (including the small business owners that use them); it's interesting that they don't have a strong direct competitor. There are many registrars, but none that have nearly the level of trac

I don't know which members of Clojure/core will be instructing this class; but I was at a Pragmatic Studio Clojure Programming session in 2010 and it was very good. That one was lead by Rich Hickey and Stuart Halloway, but some of the most

When I first saw CoffeeScript I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. I mean, it's beautiful to look at (and enjoyable to write). I was positive that it was going to replace JavaScript in my toolbox. Except, for whatever reaso
