Just to be clear, I'm not advocating giving up the filesystem :) I wholeheartedly agree that too much work has been done there to just forsake the toolchain, but that doesn't mean you can't creatively compromise to get the best of both wor

I've worked at tech companies of virtually every size, from MSFT to startups with < 5 people, as a dude with a German degree. Having been involved with hiring at many of these companies and now hiring for my own, I can say that it matte

Very neat. It seems to me the really interesting bit here is the ability to add execution meaning to arbitrary bits of text. Can anyone who uses Acme comment on whether or not that is primarily what gives Acme its power? Is there something

He's a great and very smart guy - definitely take advantage of his time while you have it. His work on the core.logic and ClojureScript has been a serious boon to the community.

I know both David Nolen and Alex Payne - they are fantastic engineers and awesome people to be around. If nothing else, I highly recommend people apply just to have a chance to interact with them :)

In John's post he mentions that doing hotswapping is very hard, but that hasn't been my experience so far. Can you by chance expound a bit on what makes/made it so difficult?

How would you try warehouse software, a wireless network, or a developer tool? A number of the companies that presented yesterday are not easily try-able and some that simply wouldn't appeal to this demographic in any meaningful way.

interestingly, we intentionally didn't show a graph, nor did we actually say any of our numbers when we presented yesterday. Our goal was to tell a story about why what we were doing mattered and I think that resonated really well with inve

It does indeed, but we punted on including CLJS in this release because we didn't have enough time to test it. It should make it into the next release though :)

We don't actually disagree - I said just before that that we need to push it into the culture :) The way to do that is to make beautiful docs the norm, which is what I tried to add to Noir and Korma. And you're right, it is really hard, but

The goal is that with the next couple releases of the Light Table playground, you'll get the "I just double click this" kind of experience. You won't have to know what lein is, it'll be somewhat of an implementation detail.

My hope is that we can do some really good things to help two of the biggest complaints here: Tooling and Documentation. On the tooling side, the next version of the Light Table Playground will be even more friendly than the previous one an

Light Table won't ultimately be in the "browser" - it will be in a wrapped webview. The experience on mac right now is that you have a standalone app just like you would with sublime et. al. Once we get some time, the same will be true for
