I worked for two years in Canary Wharf and didn't change my lifestyle so I was able to save some money. I just announced I was quitting this week and I am currently trying to think about what to do next. Which can be pretty much anything. I

So that explains why some sites were looking unstyled. Github had the same problem some days ago.

That's mostly true although there's actually no good reason for that, it's perfectly possible to have a non-flat UI without using any images or special image effects, say the new Google UI without the very subtle gradients, it's minimalisti

You do you decide Keith's salary? I'm not looking for numbers, more like the logic behind it (number of hours put in?, something else?). I will have this "problem" soon. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I guess he was talking about logic mistakes, not bugs as in "under certains conditions this fails". Logic mistakes are really hard to find because they don't make Excel crash.

Adding to that, regarding a comment on that thread: "It'll probably still be gotten wrong by the same people who push on 'pull' doors". Culture is very important. In my native language, 'push' actually means pull! I will always get that wro

Having both an iPhone 4 and an iPad 3 as well as a Macbook Air and a fat iPod Nano (best thing ever), I found it interesting that from all those keynotes we had this year, knowing iTunes would get reimagined got me much more excited than ev

I'm getting 60% off today, not sure why. Also, one could wish to buy just one book and would still get a good discount today on that one instead of paying the full price for one and having another as an offer.

By now using PPI should be the same as using GB for the RAM or GHz for the CPU (pre several cores, now it's a little bit more complex). 300 PPI is classified as not retina but you wouldn't notice it anyway, that's why we need to drop the re

That sounds like the same workflow as the HSBC app. I like it a lot and use it all the time to check my balance but it does not show many transactions, maybe ten only?

Slightly on-topic. I have been trying with some banks in the UK trying to find the best online banking system and I am not happy with the results so far. HSBC works quite well but the login system (with a RSA key) is annoying. I can accept
