Yeah. It's not completely tmux's fault -- it's doing what it can, in a terminal emulator -- but it could be smarter. You can make it behave the way it should with a couple lines in ~/.tmux.conf: # copy on select

Oh, yeah. I can't keep multiple clipboards straight. I configure everything to share the OS clipboard (except my shell... but I don't really use my shell's copy buffer since I got in the habit of using ctrl-q). tmux will copy

That looks great! Someone also pointed me at tmux thumbs, which takes a more vimium approach to this. I've got to try both of these. https://github.com/fcsonline/tmux-thumbs asciinema demo here: https://

If you set up this binding: bind-key -T copy-mode-vi MouseDragEnd1Pane send -X copy-pipe-no-clear 'xclip -i -selection primary' (or -T copy-mode, if you use emacs-flavored tmux) Then you can paste your tmux selections into

It... depends. If your terminal emulator supports the clipboard escape codes, then yes -- it just works, and there's nothing for you to do to set it up. This is because when you hit "copy" tmux just prints a bunch of escape c

You can do that! tmux capture-pane -p -S - | vim - Or bind that to a key. -p is "print to stdout", -S specifies where to start and - means "the beginning of history" (by default capture-pane just gives you the vis

Oh, cool! I've never heard of alacritty. I tried playing with it but it doesn't seem to recognize my control key (???) which makes a lot of things... hard. A quick google and glance through the settings didn't reveal any like

I don't think that's fair: this is not news to anyone who has ever used tmux. This post was written for people who have never tried tmux, but who might want to if they knew about this feature. I think tmux actually has good comman

Oh my gosh. I've spent hours looking for something like this, and was never able to find one. Unfortunately they're out of stock right now, but I'll be ordering one as soon as I can. Thanks!

nix-script looks awesome -- I saw that post on HN right after I started learning Nix, and it's sitting in my notes as something to go back to later in the series (I'm trying not to jump around too much until I'm done reading

I learned about this very recently[1] and it seems like an amazing use case that I wish got more play in the marketing of Nix. I have a lot of dumb "productivity" scripts that I wrote at work (Linux) that I can't run at home

That's really neat! I'd never heard of that. I think you just saved my future self many many keystrokes.

There's actually a link in the first sentence of the README, but it's clearly not obvious... for anyone curious about the client side, direct link here: https://github.com/ianthehenry/basilica-client

Developer here. Thanks! Moving cards between boards is coming in a later release; it's not yet possible. As for closing the card, if you're in landscape mode you can tap the faded out background -- bit of a larger hit target. We'll be makin

Nowhere in the article does he mention who his former employer is. He vaguely implies that it's a hedge fund, but there's more than one of those. This isn't an article lambasting a particular company; it's about counter-offers in general.

We're scaling back a little to handle the usage spike from the initial launch, so some users will get polling even if their browsers support websockets. As the load stabilizes, we'll be switching them back on and you should see performance

Express, Async, Mongoose, Redis, Socket.io, CoffeeScript, Less, and Underscore, off the top of my head. We also use Node Inspector during development; that's a great little tool.

Trello does use Socket.io. If your browser supports websockets it will use them, but it will transparently fall back to polling if necessary.
