What is a rendering engine with CSP in mind? The server can, at best, set the correct CSP header. It’s a validation performed entirely in the browser. Even the best intended rendering from the server can’t prevent CSP violation attempts whe

it’s unclear what point the post is trying to make. The outlined behaviour is not specific to HTMx per-se. These are security considerations for all server rendered pages. The “basic” golden rules: - Only call routes you control - Always us

It is possible that I'm missing a bigger picture where Mozilla is pushing the envelope with Firefox. We've crystalized around a specific role for each browser (e.g. Chromium brings in whatever webstandards it needs to pretend to b

One can also say it’s a duopoly of two suboptimal browsers (factoring all Chromium based browsers together). Even though other options exist “technically”, users on the two (3?) popular mobile and desktop OS experience a great deal of platf

Just earlier today, I read this post on Techrunch, of course not only because of Apple, but the size and weight of the FAANGs is just too much even for a free market: > While these companies are definitely benefiting from embracing new t

I think the issue is that by changing the way watchOS works, Apple effectively removes the possibility to develop a 3rd party health-tracking tool (because the sensor data is no longer available). Imagine AliveCor (or anyone) coming up with

Given Apple's sizeable chunk of the market, it makes sense to give 3rd party developers programmatic access to certain platform features. This way, changes to Apple's own apps wouldn't be so impactful, and they can continue t

It's stunning to me how Apple managed to convert a multi-decade legacy of being "the cool" company into "feels like Big Tobacco". And it's not like one can distance oneself from their PR games. As a developer,

Apple's compliance with the DMA has been painful to begin with. Instead of embracing the intended spirit of the regulation, they opted to be as difficult and as toxic as possible. As a developer, I feel tired and exhausted from constan

There is no harm in asking things like what do they expect to get out of it, is it possible to achieve the same result with a privacy-first alternative, can it be recorded on your backend with no need to fingerprint the user etc. “The boss”

I think the op means that this is a mindset to apply on any kind of software or tech project. Think apps supported by ads or deploying tracking toolkits by default. I was looking for a blog template the other day - so many come loaded with

Is this even legitimate? The post as well as the "leaked" document look so dodgy.

I think there is a fix for that as well, I use Focus modes to hide work apps outside 09h-16h, so there are absolutely no mentions of productivity (or badges/things that need me to do something) to be seen when I'm not on the clock

It’s so rare to see Sundar Pichai get nervous, Nilay Patel was certainly asking the right questions throughout the interview. I like to still imagine how LLMs can enhance our experience online, the current “AI” products are none of that, un

It took me a total of two weeks to complete the transfer. I didn’t need to contact support, but the process requires patience … and some downtime as I had no way of knowing exactly when the transfer happens to recreate the DNS records.

I just submitted a request to have all my content removed from SO and will challenge the outcome if needed. My right to be forgotten and have my content deleted supersedes SO’s dubious, “nobody really reads these” terms and conditions.

It reads more like a retrospective for each team member? It wasn’t clear if it’s opt-in to have your status update posted publicly but I can imagine (and hope) it’s okay not to partake.

I would love to have something like this. Even better if it comes in a portable form for the occasional visit to the office.
