What would be the alternative for small companies who want to have some kind of space to co-locate? If they feel like they can't afford something like We Work, they probably aren't willing to commit to a dedicated office space. Al

How is that different from spreading false information through newspapers when that was the primary source of people's information?

Agreed. I understand giving most organizations a 30 day grace period, but it would be great if they made an exception and cut off such a clear-cut offender immediately.

The system is a CYA policy for YouTube. It wasn't designed for that. Copyright holders just saw it as an opportunity to abuse a system for some extra cash. The lawsuits would be unlikely to hold up in court.

That would be very impractical in the real world. How would you prove that 99% of the suits would be thrown out without having 100 trials?

I'd imagine there is significant value in capturing small customers with a free product who end up growing into their enterprise products.

That is true. But it is the current state of the world and GDPR enables people to more effectively weaponize that.

I'm assuming by AI you mean adjusting the prices based on supply and demand? What do you suggest as an alternative? If prices don't adjust accordingly, you simply won't be able to get a ride.

You aren't going to rent a car to take a fifteen minute trip across town, so that isn't really comparable. And yes, they would be a taxi service. But they would be a taxi service with lower costs since they don't need pay f

Do you really feel that people here don't allow opposing viewpoints? IMO that is an area where Hacker News shines, especially in comparison to sites like Reddit. I rarely see, respectful, well thought out counter-viewpoints downvoted s

At the end of the day look where the major banks ended up after the crisis. Mostly unchanged. They knew what they were doing. It's just that what they were doing wasn't in the public's interest.

What stops creators from uploading to both? Sure, they miss out on some revenue when people watch their video on Vimeo rather than YouTube. But once they are getting a significant portion of their views on another platform, that would lik

There are a lot of mouths to keep shut on the inside. If anyone responsible for building the fake delete tool spoke out, Google would be in trouble.

Not being concerned about where a file comes from sounds like a convenience to developers. It's like a file repository. I don't know why that implies Google is scheming to further integrate their cloud services.
