Relying on birth control pills and other primarily woman-oriented techniques leaves 100% of the downsides to the woman (from health risks to emotional challenges and beyond). Comparatively, a condom has barely any downside for anyone involv

If it doesn't count for prevailing wage, does it count for the evaluation of the compensation distribution in the first place (genuine question, I'd assume no for consistency of measurement but yes if e.g. W2-reported compensation

As far as I understand there is no quick magic algorithm to find them: you train the full architecture as usual the long and hard way, then you identify the right subnetwork and you can retrain faster from the architecture and initializatio

I can totally relate :) The hackery you had to do to have the whole stack work was significant and helped a lot grow sysadmin skills for me, and to build fresh versions and hack up new plugins was a great motivation to learn to code in a te

Hasn't Ubuntu switched back to Gnome recently? Since ~2009 most of the effort was Canonical-sponsored. The C++ rewrite was quite a dealbreaker in the flow of the project (which was originally written in C). The time it took to get the

This is actually what I'd expect, but the website feels quite misleading. Advertising that a GPU-based approach can outbeat a CPU for neural nets is not a very strong commercial claim :)

> as fast as CPU TensorFlow on a desktop > You can learn more about TensorFire and what makes it fast (spoiler: WebGL) Does this mean that using a GPU in a browser through WebGL yields the same speed than a desktop CPU?

A few answers :) 1) as I mentioned elsewhere, the explicit coaching happens when you submit a photo that Keegan think is bad (say score < 5). 2) Mostly true, except that it's surprisingly good at capturing the notion of good timing,

Hey there, Coaching/advice is provided when you score much lower than that! We kinda don't take the risk of telling you "improve your composition" when the overall picture looks good and the non-standard composition may

Yeah it's super harsh with street signs or that kind of large text on pictures. The protection is there to avoid saying really silly stuff on utilities bills and other kinds of paperwork. I'll add this example to the ones we shoul

Well, the composition is not bad, the colors are more than decent. There's no bad motion blur, the main subject is clear (albeit gross). The score seems decent for that. Actually, the score scaling is a very tough subject for a public

This is indeed a "fun" project which showcases the technology and provides (I think) fairly relevant comments (trust me - a random generator is much worse, we had terrible comments at the beginning of the project). The other tec

Judge on a single sample, do you ? :) That's a fairly strong statement based on a fairly small dataset :( But yeah, our heuristics to ignore some content (e.g. websites screenshots) sometimes trip on real pictures. There's still a

It does like contrast! Hm, the score change is sufficiently low to be within the error bars I'd say. I agree that the upped clarity is less beautiful, but it adds a nice touch of sharpness which Keegan likes a lot as well!
