Yeah, this is an important question. I don't have answer for you and neither do the people in charge of the fetch API. It's an issue with promises not being cancelable. There's probably a reasonable argument that promises jus

Generally you don't actually use Redux in your component. Instead, you'd expose the action creators required by your component. Then the user has to make sure that the new state created from your actions gets back to your componen

I know this is malicious to those who want the web to be open, but I love it. Not because I particularly agree with the motive, but it's just such a cool demonstration of the power of React. Doing this has never been so easy. Google ha

Interestingly the developers of this platform have chosen to adopt the "write once, run everywhere" mantra. It appears they've also chosen to provide a unified visual framework, which means no native feel. Can someone from th

You also appear to not know how it works. React Native doesn't use a web view at all. It uses JavaScriptCore to process UI updates to native views.

My favourite talk was only 5 minutes long and came from Elie Rotenberg[0]. He demonstrated how React can be used to completely obfuscate the DOM tree. In practice it seems somewhat malicious to do this, however there may be some legitimate

I'd like to see what demos you're referring to. React Native runs as 60fps. It's native code, so if there's any problems with performance it's not JS that's the issue.

These tools exist in Javacript. I'm not saying C# is inferior at all, but JS is not inferior to C# here. TypeScript/Flow are backwards compatible with JS so you can add static typing to your JS at any time. React Native is capable

The reasoning is that with Xamarin you're still writing imperative code (AFAIK) whereas React is declarative. The result from a perspective of creating UI is that it's much faster and easier to create a UI in React. I don't t

React Native applications will be faster to develop thanks to React being inherently fast to develop. I would expect a React Native app to perform the same or better than Xamarin, due to React Native's asynchronous bridge approach. I d

I don't know about that in this case. Take a look at the collapsable menu on the left for OS X and Windows - one has icons and one doesn't. The icons at the top are ordered completely differently by the looks of it. That's no

I usually try to be positive but these changes don't look good. It looks like some overzealous designer started making UX decisions they weren't qualified to make and now the app is unusable. I'm a huge SourceTree fan - I use

There are indeed competing standards but Valve has introduced OpenVR which is what Steam games will use, which is sure to be an important factor for VR studios. I suspect OpenVR will be the common choice going forward.

Pretty easy when pretty much anything with any version of Android OS on it constitutes as "Android". For comparison, as of February 8th, 94% of all iOS devices are on iOS 8 or later, with 82% of those on iOS 9.
