Now that I saw it on your site, I'm absolutely considering it. I think server-side is the way to go, though, as explained by one of the webmentions on your post: https://nicolas-hoizey.com/articles/2020/05

Sadly true. I get by with LibreOffice, but I'm not a power user at all, yet I still hit usability quirks and bugs all the time. For stuff that just needs to work, I use Google stuff instead, if begrudgingly.

Absolutely agree. There are so many creative but obnoxious design patterns caused by a need to distinguish a brand or the designers seeing themselves as artists more than engineers. Coolness over usability is commonplace, but it's not

What surprises me the most is that in all the controversy, nobody tried to interpret the text as what it clearly was; a criticism of practices in mobile game development. Instead, they got offended by the very thing the text was crticising,

I also think the way Apple handles animations gives people a sense of the OS being more organic and friendly and less technical and difficult. In the past, they did that with skeuomorphism, but people are more OK with their phone being a te

The point is to get to choose the experience you want, and if you want the simplicity of having an Android box connected to your dumb Tv, that’s a-ok. If you want to go kore custom and just have a raspi with plex on it, that’s great, too. T

It’s worth noting that they sell very high-peice dumb TVs for over 2000$ as well now, so I’d expect those to have pretty amazing panels built in.

What was the problem, then? I thought the idea of TLDs initially was to separate domains between countries so they could manage them themselves and create less collisions between local registrars?

Depends on what you mean by “using”. It is conceivably possible to compile a webassembly interpreter like wac[1] with cosmopolitan, which would then run on all OSes and bare metal, yes. [1]: https://github.com/kanaka/wa

Oh god yes, backspace outside the text box is the worst. Some websites mitigate this themselves, but it would really be nice if the browser could take care of this.

Nah, docs in general are just very big these days, it makes quite a bit of sense to not load all of them into one single page. I do like that I can search all of pandoc's documentation with just Ctrl+F, but that's not reasonable f

What I dislike about footnotes like that is that they pollute the browser history. If you want to leave the page but clicked on a few footnotes and their backlinks, you have to go “back” through all of them. Thank you so much for posting gw

Where does everyone get their books from? From what I could tell, all books you can buy commercially come with proprietary (Amazon) or Adobe (everyone else) DRM, making them impossible to read on koreader. It seems like you always have to b

Where are you getting that from? The github repo ( https://github.com/koreader/koreader ) lists many supported formats and features, including epubs.

Thanks for the suggestion. Drift looks interesting as well, but it’s hard to say whether any of its additional features are really worth it compared to the regular tiddlywiki. Are you just hosting this on a VPS?

That was meant more as a preliminary defense as I saw other people complain and don’t know enough to defend the specific legislation. But damn, that is indeed a pretty good indicator that it’s working as intended.

Exactly, this just brings to light how little most companies care about their customers. Not saying the legislation couldn't be improved, though.

The only standard (more like pseudo-standard) I know of are the DIY 60% layouts. Those have defined mounting points and a lot of PCBs and cases are interchangeable. But no ortholinear layout fits these OOTB because the mounting points inter

The whole idea seems to be that you don’t need to care about the platform. You use the same .nix file to start a shell with a custom environment on Linux, Darwin and Windows WSL. Even aarch64 is fully supported and all binary packages are b
