I have tried using AWS and Digital Ocean for personal stuff, and Azure at work. AWS for me personally was too complicated interface wise. It was easy to lose track of running instances and being billed for things, the vast amount of types o

I've freelanced on projects before where this has happened. It's just validation of the idea. In my, admittedly limited, experience, when a project carries on regardless, usually it means the project managers can use weaknesses of

I don't have any, it's great, depending on your use case. I think it's because I learnt it growing up (age 14 onwards) that I always fall back to it as my 'natural' coding language. If someone gives me a big file of

It won't make a dent on piracy, in fact the use of Kodi will likely now increase as any press is good press. Just like electricity, people will always take the path of least resistance. If I open Netflix to watch an episode of somethin

Whilst I like the sentiment, and when I have parties at my house I try to encourage the whole "leave your phone by the door" thing, I don't really like this. When I'm in a pub, I'm generally not on my phone, and I&#

Yeah I saw that post, it was quite depressing. I'm a techie that has no interests in management, and where I live rent is £950+/mo (around $1300) without bills/council tax etc. There's nothing quite like slaving away all

I've already planned out some more advanced topics for stuff like using carbon-c-relays behind a keepalive VIP and using multiple caches etc. I've set things like this up at work and due to the nature of my work we have to have re

Off topic but I'd love to read a post about the underlying technology of this SaaS, as an amateur-ish developer coding some side projects... Also: Add a favicon and update your 2014 copyright footer.

I don't think there's any guaranteed way, and you have to remember that cool is a perception. I find the best way for me is to just write down a whole bunch of words describing what I'm doing, then sit with someone and brains

We use Grafana on top of Graphite for everything. It's great as it has plenty for tech types but is easy enough for management to use effectively.

Then new programmers will stick to stack overflow and the likes, and mailing lists will slowly decline. Not a bad thing in my opinion as I'm not a mailing list fan (as is obvious from my first reply).
