We do this where I work and while it’s great that it solves this problem, but Docker on macOS leaves much to be desired. The situation with filesystem performance is abysmal, and if you’re unlucky, CPU usage can go through the roof even whe

Because they didn’t actually make it impact ranking. At least not in a meaningful way. This looks to be changing this year with Core Web Vitals, but it’s still to be seen if these scores will really have an effect on ranking.

Yes, and the loss of advanced search syntax hasn't helped either (ex: + operator, quoted strings, etc). They also have weird issues around date ranges (ex: reddit results that appear in date range searches are wildly incorrect). I'

So what can people reasonably do anymore? As others have mentioned, even when you do due diligence and turn off settings, companies are now flipping settings back. What recourse is left now?

I might be remembering wrong, but you forgot a step. You need to change/delete the referer header. When Reddit detects that you came from Google, for example, it will not render all of the comments and instead try to do a similar rende

That’s great to hear. Checking that page, I see that the sections for iOS is empty. Doing a quick search shows some iOS/Apple specific issues. Any idea if the CardDAV (and now CalDAV) implementations work with Contacts on Apple devices

Have they implemented CardDAV support yet? I’d definitely add it to my self-hosted stack, but I don’t want to be stuck updating contact info in two places.

Sigh... my wife and I haven’t gotten this stimulus check yet. Every month, the IRS website has no update on our status. We filed our taxes early and even got our tax refunds before the normal April 15th deadline. They clearly have our inf

Was going to post the exact same thing. This was my experience while living in Japan too. To me, the takeaway is that you simply cannot catch everyone with your defaults. Google and DDG have made different prioritization defaults and the re

This is close to what I’ve been searching for - split, TKL mechanical keyboard. But it’s missing the esc and function keys. I find it weird that I haven’t seen such a keyboard yet.

Not the OP, but from my experience teaching web dev, one possible reason is nerves. I’ve seen some of the smartest students make that mistake on an assessment simply because they were under pressure. A simple conversation afterwards shows t

With respect to the US, this answer is incomplete. The theory of letting the market decide only works when there is a free market. Most places I’ve lived has only had a single choice for ISP effectively making them monopolies.
