I was really happy when that Ask HN thread was first posted and even happier now knowing that all of the comments were read and thoroughly considered. That said, what this blog post and the general feeling I get from Ubuntu as a whole is th

> It basically says ... and I agree not to talk about this payout" That's not quite right. When I read the NDA, section 2 is what stuck out to me as an oddity that isn't standard in most settlement agreements. Specifically

Since you are moving to a subscription model, I'm curious as to how updates and support will change. I usually equate subscriptions with better support and/or more frequent updates. What differences can users expect on this front

Yes, it is. Human nature isn't to blame here. It's a justice system that allows for those in power (position, authority, wealth, etc.) to accuse those with less means of defending themselves without repercussions .

I kind of assumed that at $35/month, there were no ads. You have to skip them? Seems to me that YouTube wants to have its cake and eat it too.

Did I say intent in my reply? Did I even imply it anywhere? Because until I saw your response, intent didn't even cross my mind. Regardless of that, I still don't think intent changes my point of view when it comes to justice . T
