Find and talk to people who have(done) what you want. HN is not the best place to find that sort of thing. I would research other entertainment companies/individuals similar to the team you working with.

Everybody(in tech) knows that most of the time certifications are worthless in terms of real technical skill... that being said - it gets you through the door. you will get more interviews if you have something. Since you mentioned Network

The main point I would take from that kind of advices is that all answers, no matter how fancy, should sound like you , and not like you're just reciting some self-help book on passing the job interviews.

I think you can't compare those two. at least not in fair apples vs apples way, simply because it is free/open source vs quite expensive/proprietary product.
