How did so many people make a living as poets. Seems like an absolute luxury.

How do you know? Is there a breakdown of the percentage of the deficit spending?

It would be so easy to make this a practical pickup. I could get past the fact that it looks terrible in person if it had a usable truck bed. But the bed is so small and constrained that is basically useless

Oh wow so this chip is completely vertically integrated and manufactured in China. That’s big.

That being said, there’s no way I’m picking up a book and reading it without atleast knowing what the book is about. I bet no one would unless you are already familiar with an author.

Absolutely. I’m “surprised” by every new plot point in every book.

If I know the key cliffhanger or major plot point in a book, I don’t even bother reading it. I can also never really read a book or watch a movie/series more than once.

The semi will happen. The cybertruck will work but it’s goddamn ugly and the trunk is small and useless. The roadster always seemed too good to be true, it’s not going to happen. A 600 miles per charge is a rubicon and we’re not there yet.

Competent people make fewer mistakes because they’re careful and… competent.

I guess the idea is that if the problem was incompetency they will find some other way to mess up as opposed to a genuine mistake made by a competent person.

I’d like a lot of restaurants to exist though, I don’t want being able to find workers to be the limiting factor and have 4 choices for food instead of 40. Plus it lets a lot of business owners start up their own businesses and support a lo

The “enough not to quit” could be much lower than $15, like $7/hour. You can’t advertise $7 and get workers but you can dangle potential tips in front of them. The whole thing is weird game theory.

Well the restaurant doesn’t guarantee the worker $15. If you don’t have enough tips, the worker just makes less.

Meh I hate tipping culture as much as the next person but you really can’t run, for instance a dive bar, and pay the bartender $15 an hour. The foot traffic doesn’t bring in nearly enough most of the time. The end result would just be far f

Don’t deign to even remotely justify this tipping nonsense. People should know upfront how much they need to pay with no guilt tripping funny business. It also irks me to no end how entitled someone bringing your food out to you can be. Eve

No they can’t. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s very easy to convincingly shitpost if you have an axe to grind or a personal vendetta.

I had this strange thought the other day that the way all animals deal with winter is a distress behavior. Bears in hibernation, if you observe footage, look supremely ragged and uncomfortable. I don’t think it’s a pleasant experience and t

The only way to actually know is with “dispensable” humans and long term studies. That’s not ethical and never going to happen so I guess we’ll never know.

It’s not hard to imagine aliens knowing about organic matter since those are universal. I could see a disdain for it if that’s where they started and then “ascended”. Much like we might view crude stone tools compared to say the LHC. Or how

Well wouldn’t every radio receive the updated keys unless it’s specifically reported as lost and blocked?
