How is the right to privacy being violated though? Imagine you were a stripper or porn actress, your right to privacy wouldn't preclude someone recognizing you at the strip club or video. Or suppose you went to the strip club or watche

If the videos are published, and the social media profiles public, how can it be illegal to match the two? Supposedly if they show their face they already accept the danger of being recognized, unless the video was published illegally. That

The average debt is substantial if you consider over 30k substantial. Professional students obviously will have substantially more. But most professional school loans are private and not federal as there is a cap. Also I believe your argume

The flatness might be going on 40 years now. People were saying 30 years like 10 years ago.

The interesting part is the historical contingency of the distribution, that is based not just on rational economic principles but purposeful policy. For example, you would need to explain why up from post-war until the mid-70s you see incr

Which is ironic since the US has been becoming increasingly less "free." Like state elections, the ways congressional districts are gerrymandered, and the enormous outsized voice capital has in the functioning of our government an

Is natural gas used to cool houses in Europe? I thought natural gas was mostly used for heating. In the UK at least many house lack air conditioning. I can't speak about the continent.

Not to mention that there is a reproducibility crisis in psychology and social science, and delivering the message without nuance makes it even more irresponsible.

Imo the problem with the article, and perhaps if it is a faithful representation of the original idea of orientalism, is that it is incoherent. >As Said argued, Orientalism’s failure was “a human as much as an intellectual one; for in ha

I agree that physicians wages may be part of it. The AMA keeps a tight control on how many physicians are produced to keep fees high, but physician incomes haven't really been increasing. Doctors, I believe, generally make less now adj

Except in most of STEM there are already an equal number of women. As soon as the baby boomers retire itll be obvious. Women get more PhDs than men, and have been for a while.

In much of STEM women are basically at parity. With computer science, and engineering being obvious exceptions. Further there is a study which has shown that in countries with greater gender equality women choose STEM occupations less. Over
