Wait, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't patents only valid in the country they are filed in? So to be able to enforce a patent, you'd need to have filed in the US, Europe and China(?). Also patents take a couple of years to

No, Redmine is awful. The only people who like it are developers who have no need of real project management features. For everyone else it's a labyrinth of bugs, weird UI kludges and something that feels like it's from 1998.

These are well established business with deeply developed ecosystems (monopolies?) and market traction behind them. Smaller players, especially threats to OpenAI and whoever else could easily get squashed in such a scenario.
