It's not mentioned in the post specifically, but this is what you get when a new user tries to login with Facebook: https://imgur.com/a/iAf6r

Pausing app reviews is annoying for sure, but not allowing new users to authorize their app is really bad. Meaning that new customers can't connect with facebook anymore to access their own data using OAuth! We don't need permissi

No major issues. If you're moving from a single node PG to CRDB you should expect CRDB to be slower because of all the consensus stuff. However almost every update I see from them contains some improvements in that area so it will get

We use it as an insert only db for now for incoming webhooks which allows us to de-duplicate events and significantly reduce writes to the main PG db. We're running it on GKE which has been much easier to setup than PG. There is also T

Really looking forward to see this in action. Is follow the workload already present in 1.1.3? Is there a bit more detailed technical doc on how this is actually achieved ideally with some examples? When is it decided that the lease holder

We had the exact same issue with RMQ (HA setup) on GCP (running on GKE) a few weeks ago. Tried contacting support about this, it's paid - no customer support for their own bugs. The solution we came up so far is to disable automatic mi

Same here, perf is obviously great, but no more crazy dependencies is just great! So much time I wasted trying to make it fit into a docker container.

For the 5km chimney it needs to hold on 500km/h winds. For scale a category 5 hurricane is 250 km/h. Is it even possible to have that kind of structure with existing materials?

So monkey patching is bad you're saying? I agree that it's possible what you're saying about kwargs, but after about 6 years of python I've never encountered that in any of the code that I've worked on.

True, but very popular packages are usually battle tested and type errors are very rare in practice in those packages. Most bugs I've seen are not because of the lack of a static type system.

There are solutions for this: flowtype for js or mypy for python (preferably with python3.5+).

Like the presentation said, if you have a small project then don't use type checking. If you work in a big project with a lot of code that you didn't write then it could help a lot. Also you don't have to use it everywhere wi
