I am implementing native support for deploying Python apps in DollarDeploy. DollarDeploy is like Coolify and dokploy but with better UI, no docker containers and fast deploys for full stack apps, NextJS, react

You don't publish a ready-made image anywhere? That would be easier to spin it up without installing locally moose first. Kind of defeats the purpose of Docker Compose recipe. And those ports bindings, is it really necessary to expose

My experience: - Dokku - too much shell scripting and you forget all the commands you typed after 1 year. - Dokploy - you need to install it on your host. So it makes it difficult to switch to a bigger host. So now I am actively developing

I believe that Kubernetes is something you want to use if you have 1+ SRE full-time on your team. I actually got tired with complexity of kubernetes, AWS ECS and docker as well and just build a tool to deploy apps natively on the host. What

Would be quite difficult to migrate to self-host, there is no open source version of Firebase APIs, and while there is alternatives like Supabase, it is a significant rewrite of both frontend and backend.

I am working on DevOps AI for my DollarDeploy platform. Helps you define correct settings when deploying any kind of app, guessing from the GitHub repo contents. Not another chatbot but Cursor IDE style autocomplete for the app configuratio

They had no cost usage alerts. So they even did not know that the thing was happening, just realized with the first bill. I think that is the essence of what is wrong with the cloud costs. Defaulting to possibility for everyone to scale r

I really loved serverless for while, particularly in the early days, when building small projects. But AWS Lambdas, for example, is constant maintenance hell for larger applications, including building and dependency issues, debugging and s

Hi, I build NextJs in standalone mode per docs and it works pretty well, we keep it running using pm2 but I want to migrate to systems service. I would say any NextJs should work but we run DollarDeploy ourselves using NextJs 14

Remember all those horror stories about ridiculous bills from public cloud providers? I also got $4.5k bill once for simple mistake on AWS. So I decided to build Vercel for your own servers - DollarDeploy, which manages servers and deploys

Looks very interesting!! I registered and found an issue: when I add the mention keyword, it shows two results, but after saving it, it shows zero results. I tried checking mentions for my side project DollarDeploy.

Yes, you just need to add two apps with the same configuration pointing to the different hosts for that. We plan on implementing different cluster topologies in the future.

Exactly, we want to make it as easy as possible and also enable portability so you can switch to a bigger server or other provider. The platform is called DollarDeploy and we will be launching soon on HN!

I also planning to move workloads from public clouds - it is expensive and too complicated. I created a service to easily deploy modern apps to VPS. Like Vercel but separating control plane and servers. Supporting both CPU and GPU servers.
