I am not too familiar with the American legislative process. Why is it that only Boehner can put a bill for voting? It sounds like it would be an unnecessary obstacle.

Somehow we tend to think that all it takes is hard work. But there are many aspects of building a successful business. Sometimes we can risk a little too much. Not everybody makes it, not every body has the needed support, not everybody has

I love this. Especially the part where it gives you a few problems that you can try to solve. Not only is a good way to find talent that may otherwise be detected. It increases the chances of finding new ways to solve some problems. (Edit:

Ah Dr Dobbs. I miss the days when I waited for the next number to read it back to back including adds. Now we have so much information at our finger tips but it becomes harder to be exited about it.

Exactly Andrew Carnegie sounds right. As a business man, Gates was ruthless building his empire, but he will eventually do more good in areas that ultimately more important than computers.

I remember reading this particular story 30 something years ago. Probably in Reader's Digest. I guess he also read it and made it his own. I hope it wasn't a thing back then. http://www.humansofnewyork.com/post

"Keep it simple" Sounds easy. But it requires a person with deep understanding of software projects and with real political weight within the project to keep creeping requirements at bay.

I agree with you. I have worked for a number of companies where you often hear "Our business is not software". Then they wander why they cannot do all the projects that would allow them to move fast, provide better service, or sav
