fwiw, the Selenium project is now old enough to go to college (19 years this month!); it's not ready to retire just yet. (Side-note: Google Chrome is 15 years old. Age is just a number.) Selenium is still learning from other projects a

Selenium project creator here... Very cool! I totally expect testing to be one of the killer apps for AI. And this is an easy way to get there. How do you ensure the AI isn't hallucinating any details in the generated code?

As someone deep in the software test automation space, the thing I'm waiting for is robust AI-powered image recognition of app user interfaces. Combined with an AI ability to write test automation code, I'm looking forward to the

They are currently not auto-generated. (I only implemented the absolute minimum to get started calling the most commonly used OpenCV methods from Nim.) Hopefully the bindings will be auto-generated be in the future, though!

I don't know if my particular version is noteworthy, but I recently started making updated Nim bindings for OpenCV and it was kinda fun. I don't consider myself an advanced C++ programmer, but Nim made the process easier than I ha

I suspect it's simply a size-of-community thing. If you want it, you should take a crack at implementing it! Or least start a thread about on the official developer forum.

Software/app testing (manual or automated) is always a killer app for stuff like this. And my anecdotal observation of HN over the years is that most of HN doesn't get the point when it comes to anything that could be a killer tes

Thanks, although I'm not active day-to-day on the Selenium and Appium projects these days. All my love to the current maintainers keeping the projects going!

Hi, Selenium & Appium creator here. I've always been on the test automation side of things. The fact that these tools were also useful for scraping was an interesting coincidence to me. These days I make physical robots that are th

#handWaveEmoji. Hello from Tapster Robotics, where we make small shoebox-sized robots for testing phones and other touchscreen devices (like payment terminals). Kind of an extension of my web and app testing work with Selenium and Appium.

I feel the same way. I wish Nim was more popular, but I'm not letting that stop me from using it. It's already extremely useful enough. I spent the last few weeks writing Nim code (specifically an OpenCV binding that wraps just th
