My hunch is that someday crypto will be accrued and used like frequent flyer miles or credit card rewards points. But the "better than any alternative" part is that they'll be more fungible than rewards points.

"Find 40 banks" Sadly, that's your job now. Alternatively, I could imagine more VCs from now on will stop giving out the whole round in one wire. They'll start wiring money only in small traunches. You'll legally ha

No plans to move money out. But definite plans to create a new, additional account elsewhere and when payment for current orders in process comes in over the next 30 to 60 days, have those new funds go into the new account. (Basically, dive

Yeah, the lack of a sane upgrade path really is a massive issue that should be labeled more clearly. (And a headline level bullet point in any written review of it.) The lack of a sane upgrade path completely undercuts their marketing messa

I'd bet that money and humanpower would have fixed the problem, but they didn't have enough of either. The problem was that Elementary OS was a very ambitious project, but they didn't have the same people and money resources

Like I said, easier said than done. Having at least a year's worth of savings is a path to psychology safety while working in tech, which is what they were asking about. I learned this lesson earlier in my career during the Dot Com Bus

Two rules: Rule #1: Have enough savings in your bank account to pay all your living expenses for at least one year. (Obviously easier said than done.) Rule #2: Follow Rule #1. (If you do, you'll have time to figure everything else out.

I generally agree, especially for kids' furniture, but the pre-drilled grid-beam compatible beams from McMaster-Carr[1] (which is likely just 80/20 Ready Tube) are incredibly strong. I've made a bunch of office desk & tab

Literally! The mathematical requirement for grid beam is that the width of the beam matches the hole-to-hole distance in the beams. Lego technic beams are 8mm wide, and the hole-to-hole distance is 8mm. Lego is small-scale grid beam. Exampl

Solenoids could definitely work. They might also be cheaper if I wind them myself. I might do that for a future version. Downside is that's more work to wind custom solenoids, which of course I could automate, but then that's more
