Right but if I've goth links to third parties already, proxying them through Cloudfare does not reduce complexity, and would not reduce that connection setup time, since the connections already get set up in parallel. It might even add late

But the part I don't get is Why? Why should I proxy the third parties through Cloudflare to obtain multiplexing? They already are "multiplexed" by virtue of being on a separate domain. I already have great parallelism for those resources.

Right. The internet is not confused about this issue. The internet backlash is against FunnyJunk threatening a lawsuit against the Oatmeal. The Oatmeal could not have raised $100k+ in support of suing FunnyJunk. edit: removed personal refer

Oh, thanks. Downvoted for not knowing that. Way to build community HN. Anyway, it's too much trouble to search any time you want to post something, just to avoid setting off the blowhards around here who get annoyed.

But to prevent reposting, the poster -- who doubtless missed the original posting -- would have to search somehow for previous HN posts about the URL. But there is no search facility on HN. You can't blame the poster.

Even after securing our own passwords, we are all still vulnerable to attacks where the attackers simulate members of our networks to discover private information like our connections, job history, etc.

It appears they "acquired" Realtek's code signing certificate. Can Realtek bring action against the U.S. for stealing the certificate? Edit: For stealing the private key, I mean.

I imagine many of them hedged with options on the open market. [edit] I just learned below that that market just opened, so that strategy must not have been available to them.

True, it happens now and then. Man bites dog. But in general, a lot more motor vehicles hurt cyclists and pedestrians, than the other way around.

I've been told it's illegal here in Texas -- evading a stop light. I can't find the Texas law saying so, at least not after 5 minutes of searching.

Google really doesn't know I hit the back button, do they? I just tried it and Chrome debugger shows the page load for search results coming from cache. I guess I just don't see what information the browser sends that would allow them to kn

My case is similar but different. My M.A. diploma says Geological Sciences. But it would be misleading to think I know anything at all about rocks. I studied geophysics and I put M.A. Geophysics on my resume. That is more accurate, and peop

I think they will have to really play up the ability to easily override the automation . I agree. Steamships retained masts for sails into the twentieth century, and I believe horseless carriages could still be hooked up to a team, for a w

Lol "the next best candidate". C'mon. [edit to explain that gut reaction] Physics and math practitioners would be far better candidates than a general computer scientist, for the domains described in this ad, even today.
