You dropped out of college because of a "ridiculous emphasis on calculus" yet you are able to track and form opinions on the quality of "algorithms teaching in top universities"? I doubt it.

We already have a lot of miles on ChromeOS. Why isn't it more popular? Is there anything fundamentally inferior about a device that is all web browser? Will B2G have the same barriers?

That looks like a full fledged game running in a canvas. It looks great to me. Is it somehow inferior to native Angry Birds? (I've never looked any other version).

Yes. The problem is that at some point you talk to some library function that uses java.util.Date, and there goes your time zone information (although with hackery you can sometimes get the library to do the right thing).

I can only speculate. They don't really offer comparative figures. but they do say: "We now have over 1 million users of the Web app. A lot of customers have switched over from the native app." One million users is a lot! I doubt they have

The MPAA/RIAA argument amounts to: We would like to do business on the Internet but existing Internet architecture isn't satisfactory for our business model. Let's make a law to change the architecture.

data-blah is HTML 5 legal and dojo is changing its patterns to use it. dojoAttachPoint is an attribute dojo uses in widget templates. I don't really know what you would propose to replace it (except data-attachPoint, say). If you're going t

A goal of social policy is to modify the incentives that make "cruel" and "unavoidable" the logical choices. When child labor was legal, working them long hours was a cruel, unavoidable, and rational decision by employers too.

Yes. We need better prophylactics in place to ensure we don't catch the GPL virus. That's why people call it viral. You're correct that other open source licenses can present similar issues of poisoning.
