Support is absolutely the worst, the Azure CLI is buggy as hell and some of the services are buggity as hell. I experienced that hell just trying to get something out of Azure onto AWS.

To quote the comments from the article: Like watching Gangrene Spread. That is exactly the same experience I have of Azure.

I think this is overthinking it. The only thing that matters are the collaborating interfaces. If you are writing a test case it should possible to act upon it through interfaces only. If you can’t do that then you probably screwed up the d

Less food in. More exercise out. That’s weird in this day and age apparently.

This. We have multi AZ in more than one region and I occasionally dream of Bezos wearing only a top hat and waistcoat laughing manically while diving into a large vat of gold coins.

I’m just going to have to spend all day fixing the runbooks as well as the technology ;)

So today I find out my job title is tech priest. I was happy with necromancer before. Does it come with a pay rise?

They all seem to have serious problems at that price point. I got through about three before giving up and buying a decent one, albeit second hand.

Not collectible. Specialist portable industrial equipment is all I'm saying :) The script was almost irrelevant compared to the discovery of the niche.

I had a 200 line python script running on a junker PC that pulled a not insignificant amount of cash in. It was an arbitrage system that looked for poorly listed items in a couple of eBay niches. I'd literally buy the items it identifi

To note I paid considerably less than half that for my $300 arm. YMMV but shop around for corp clearance.

Apple also have a warranty and service which is worth more than toilet paper unlike the other brands.

Decent monitor arms easily cost $300-500.

Well it was mostly used for transcoding and compiling Go. The bottom end 8Gb Mac mini was significantly faster than the Ryzen on both.

I'm going to buy this, once I've seen one in person. But as always I'm going to get a VESA mount version because every damn monitor vendor either ships a stand that is too short or one that is too expensive and inflexible and

I use the Knoll Sapper arms. They are fully articulated and rotatable. You can get them on eBay for not much if you lurk.

My work computer was a sun ultra 60 then. Felt godly. Then it was replaced with a windows 2000 pentium 3 box which was notably a lot faster.

This is one thing I really love about M1 macs actually. I spend a lot of my time with my face in service manuals in PDFs and the experience is spot on with Preview. Adobe Reader on windows is absolutely horrible to use in comparison.

Not a bad price. The thing that kills me with PC builds though is longevity and when they don’t work. I’m getting too old to play RMA when something doesn’t work. I want one single point of contact. I moved from a Ryzen 3700X running window

Stick two bigger GPUs in it to drive multiple 4k screens. But yes no ECC. Linux arm64 works on my M1 Pro in UTM using native virtualisation. And it’s fast as anything.

Also the impressive things for me are it’s actually really cheap, as in bargain territory, and you don’t have to piss around with HP sales drones to actually get one like the Z series.

Yeah it feels horrible now. When I got my iPhone 13 pro it cost me an M1 iPad and a 14” MBP because everything felt horrible afterwards.

Also UTM if you are a cheap ass like me. https://github.com/utmapp/UTM I use native virtualisation to run Debian arm64 and emulation to run Debian x86-64
