Yeah this. We blew stuff up, made shelters, camped out and climbed up trees. The grass, asphalt and concrete was hot and boring.

Nope. He was putting tits on a coke poster to sell more coke. I don’t have a poster and don’t believe in coke.

That social connection only works for people who haven’t discovered the internet yet. I’m in my late 40s and we mostly lurk on Meetup and through private connections. On numerous occasions I’ve had nights out with people I’ve never met befo

This is one thing I hate to hear every two minutes. Firstly, if you’re better to people because of religion then I am afraid of you. It only takes a moment for the fragile concept of faith to dissolve. I’ve seen it happen. Secondly, the nat

JIRA is awful. I notice they dropped the slogan “because you’ve got issues”. Perhaps because it was too close to home

Nope much more insidious. A/B testing is statistically random. This thing dangled the desirable result down a path of rewards to attempt to reprogram people into accepting version A while discarding version B, then measuring which meth

That’s a hell of a lot of money for all those dead topics on obsolete knowledge moderated into uselessness. Stackoverflow is where I go when I don’t want an answer.

I’d probably get fucked over if I mention names which would be required. Not very nice people.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted because that’s exactly what they’re doing. I worked for a company that was being paid to work out how best to manipulate people into certain political outcomes by trying things and measuring results.

All the time. It’s not even that reliable when it’s up. Total embarrassment for us when we have to explain to management. If I started again I’d probably use something standalone, light weight and 100% self hosted ie GoCD. I’d change the op

Same situation here. This, the 2/3 ads being forced down me which are of no interest at all and the constant upselling of YouTube music and the recent shoot down of ad blockers on the desktop browser front really makes it a hostile pla

Oh yes completely. But even if the house is made of poo, shooting holes in the wall is not the way to fix it. There really aren’t any winning moves other than not to play at all. Which may be an insane self sacrificing position.

Totally agree with this. I’ve not seen one of these things that isn’t seriously dangerous to run. As with all these things, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, apparently by tinfoil hatted nut jobs who don’t understand the probl

Also depends on your reputation as a buyer on Amazon I think. If you order lots of high value items and one goes missing they treat you differently than if you made one high value purchase. I’ve run a huge pile of apple kit through them in

I’m running an 8Gb MacBook Air. This replaced my 32Gb i5 Mac mini. And it’s fine. I don’t hit any memory pressure. To do this I accept two compromises: no virtual machines, light weight editor (vim). The VMs I spin up when I need them in th

Durgod k320 is dirt cheap and supports QMK firmware. I haven’t tried the firmware myself as the default is fine. I don’t customise my stuff heavily so I don’t have problems using other peoples computers occasionally.

Not sure about that. I’ve got a Durgod K320 TKL cherry MX red silent switches and bought mac keytops for it and it’s half that price in the US. Also doesn’t have some fucked up weird keyboard layout that makes it impossible to use another k

I’ve done a huge amount of “enterprise architecture” going back 20 years or so. I’ve designed and built horrible things that scare most people to death. Imagine monoliths with over 1000 DD and ORM mapped business domain classes, 2000 http e
