Sure, it's propaganda, but you have to understand your enemy to defeat them. I'm not interested in this video or the man's opinions. But I strongly believe that the footage should be available so people can see just how horri

But we still make Nazi filmed footage from their concentration camps available. There's no other way to truly understand what happened unless you see it. Regardless of who filmed it.

You think you understand, but until you really see something or someone go from living and breath to abruptly dead, you don't. As for the 16 year old, it wasn't long ago that by 16 you'd have seen a few of your siblings and f

I don't see these two pieces of footage as functional different. They are documentation of terrorist attacks. If one is allowed, then yes, all should be.

True. But it's functional no different than police bodycam footage. It is a documentation of the events as they unfolded. It does not have a message. It doesn't function as propaganda.

No, if you're going to be recruited by this, you're already fucked in the head. But showing this to your aunt who's wishy washy about gun control will probably disgust her into action.

But trolls are smart and don't share, they reupload. Which is still easy to catch if you hash the video. But doing something like mirroring or otherwise making a small tweak to the video breaks that hash lookup. Hence 20% making it thr

Death, dismemberment and destruction used to be a part of people's lives. They're not now and I think we don't value life as much because most of us don't know how abrupt and cold death actually is.

It's not gratuitous, it's real life. If you really really want the public to be upset enough about this to take action, they need to see just how horrifying it was. The video of the execution of Nguyễn Văn Lém in Vietnam was huge

Agreed. There's a difference between propaganda and documentation. Christchurch is grainy helmet cam. Not highly produced propaganda.

I think they should. Hiding reality from people does not do any good. Peta wouldn't release "inside the factory farm" footage if it was an effective way to galvanize an audience.

I do mean the media platforms. That 757 video was played on repeat for weeks on all of the major channels in 2001. Hundreds of people turning into a fireball over and over. It made it real for us. By hiding the video from ChristChurch, peop

It still strikes me that it can be illegal to be in possession of a device which has a certain combination of positive and negative polarities embedded in it. Shakespeare's typing monkeys come to mind.

The video of the 757s hitting the WTC isn't purged from the internet, why should this video be? The world is dark and full of terrors (but getting better every day), and sticking our heads in the sand doesn't change that.
