Maybe I'm misunderstanding your example, are you trying to emulate `.nth-child(x)` with classes like `.list-1`, `.list-2`? If that's the case, using CSS Modules, you can do in CSS: .list-1 { ... } .list-2 { ... } requ

That's only a secondary reason, the main reason for this is to avoid having to deal with CSS' "everything is global" flaw. CSS Modules [1] and other tools allow you to require CSS like you would with any other dependency

I don't think needing an enemy is specific to the United States, they are just slightly less shameful than other "modern" countries about it. I quote modern because in many areas of its way to govern, the US seems to be prett

In my opinion, progress in that domain should come in the form of mandatory warnings to end-users when selling technologies that do not meet acceptable standards. A big warning on the package would be enough to turn away average users - thu

You're mistaking weight for density. You can't create mass out of nowhere. If you transform fat into muscle, you still have the same amount of the same atoms, and thus weight the same.

This is not a topic I'm an expert on, I was originally just annoyed with the way the article title was worded, but those claims seem pretty wild. Do you have anything to back those up? > reduce heat production Then what? It only tak

Technically, the virus directly causes overeating, not obesity, the title makes it sound like this virus could make you gain more weight for a different reason. "Cause Obesity" sounds like it is the entire reason behind all of obe

I know that posting the original title is usually recommended, but shouldn't it be proper etiquette to remove sensationalism and click-baity messages on HN? "The" is very misleading, so is "Cause Obesity". Wouldn&#x

The tone of most of the comments is very surprising to me. Many seem to argue that the ruling is wrong or too harsh, which I don't really see the basis of. I personally think that unskilled gambling should not be a thing, but in the cu

Maybe I misunderstood the current situation? Of course other services exploiting it isn't intentional, but giving a free pass to one of their own services was definitely intentional?

You might be confused by how PostGraphQL works, as it makes the queries very close to the database structure. In real life there will usually be a lot more going on to serve a GraphQL query than simply translating it to SQL. The data you&#x

Do you really think it's good practice to use comments to describe how the language itself works? It's not like you can't find comprehensive, quality documentation for every single thing that happens in that function on MDN o
