> It’s a great way for a huge team of programmers to write a massive amount of code that doesn’t do very much Yea. I often hear the excuse "it's for many lines of code written by large teams" but what's often ignored

I love how you make a faulty assumption and then go on a huge rant disproving it as if that matters.

It is, but the people realizing this are very small in number. It's not just SSLPing, it's the entire industry. SSLPing is aruably a lot simpler (comparitavely speaking) than many other products.

You can't solve problems of complexity by piling on more and more layers. Layers need to be collapsed

How do any of these things help? "docker repositories, terraform, aws service catalog (or cloudformation)" These are all part of the problem, and can never be the solution.

You can. If you write it in Go and package it as a single binary. You can't if you write it in a scripting language that requires tons of programs to already exist on the system (a specific version of the language interpreter + a datab

This is the first time I hear this compliment about KDE: being high performance and low memory usage. It's the exact opposite in my experience. The worst performance and most resource hungry desktop environment. Though to be honest it&

I don't know anything about you or your company, but I know enough about programming and the industry to tell you this: Don't conflate being a good programmer/engineer with being a good employee. In my experience, most softwa

That's interesting. So this means that the only thing Zig does is auto-insert the 'async' qualifiers in front of functions instead of requiring you to insert them?

Maybe I misunderstood the comment I was replying to. I was replying about the "binaries" part. Binaries are always paltform specific. The "only" part of "platform-only" - I can sympathize with. There are some t

You omit the most important point about the definition of function colors. Point 3. You can only call red functions from other red functions. That's the only problem with `async` functions. Now, I don't know much about Zig's

Is this a serious comment? Shipping native platform binaries is the only reliable way to ship high quality software. Specially in 2022 with all the garbage floating around in virtual machines and "electron" bloatware.

As a side note, I really like the design of this landing page. Instead of a "hero unit" with a salesy blob text in marketeese, there's a useful description of what the product is, what it does, and what value it adds to the e

Looks promising. Price is very reasonable. Now trying it out. Unless I find a major issue I'm very likely to buy it. Is there any chance of supporting other languages? I'm asking because I'm one of the (probably few?) people

I used to think the software industry was broken because seeing from the inside it's obvious that the vast majority of programmers have no idea what they are doing. Then as I looked at the rest of the world, it started to become clear

Yes but your computer will not gracefully handle CPUs randomly failing or RAM randomly failing. Sure, storage devices can come and go, but that's been the case since forever, and most programs are not written to handle this edge case g

The reason I want things to be self contained is not for someone else to use it as a base upon which to build additional layers of complexity. That defeats the whole point.
