I think some sort of reputation score would make more sense, assuming it’s possible to design one that can’t be easily faked

The consumers of google captcha will not care if on occasion some failing business attempts to enable graphene or linage users, the userbase of those users is not enough for most companies to care and the ones that do probably aren’t cared

Your analogy portrays gravity as a thing that buildings cannot be built to withstand. There are plenty of structurally sound buildings and while there are plenty of secure apps the problem is there’s no incentive to build the latter.

No, it’s more like me storing my money at a bank, and then someone stealing from the bank, who told me they were secure. And turns out they had shitty locks.

No building has a 100% chance of not caving in, yet somehow I think charges would be laid if a skyscraper caved in.

We’re in a thread about Nethack 5.0 release, I think it’s safe to say not everyone in this thread has finished the game.

You’re thinking like a consumer and not a business who could make money by transmitting that footage and using it for other purposes!

Many modern apps seem to cache based on total ram installed, and don’t seem to scale well to larger than normal systems. Chrome, I’m looking at you.

I’d be curious if you could squeeze out better performance with a newer emulator. Either way, SNES games on a 468 is not shameful, it’s the pinnacle of hacker ethos!

And if you want to be even more pedantic, shell access with a touch based key just means the attacker has to wait for you to auth, which makes touch based systems largely a waste of effort on the defenders part.

Nobody inspects packages after install, your theory has been debunked multiple times, caring about npm install running scripts is moot when you’ll inevitably run the actual binary after install. And besides, you could always pull the packag

At this point, the risk of a compromised package outweighs the risk of an upstream vuln that actually matters. Npm audit is full of junk like client side redos vulns, you could probably ignore 90%+ of the reports and still be secure against
