KOEI series it led me to edit the save files and change the hex value (i think i used norton commander) for abilities & resources i did the same with civ1, had 65535 gold at 4000bc, stuffs like that are now easily changed with cheat cod

seconded, there's no vi in openbsd install image i had to use ed during installation to change the fstab (from sd0a to wd0a) of a 2.5" hdd mounted on usb important step coz o/w rebooting from sd0a 2.5" ide put me to single user w/ read-only

i'd say programming environment (unix/mac, vim/emacs) and skill levels (algo, data structure, etc) matter more than hardware it costs less to hire a skillful (but expensive) developer on ok machine than less skillful one(s) on expensive mac

to increase productivity, you may need to 'do without' do without mouse and hard-to-reach keys (F1-12, arrows, numpads) i found ide is about using mouse and using those keys (like F5? to run) etc ... but i didn't use much ide shrug in vim

does having X * (PC, monitor, laptops, servers <insert hw>) make you X times more productive? i guess not, it could be diminishing return or even negative return (more distractions, harder to admin / sync / whatever)

i took undergrad research class and some grad level courses before applying despite my Cs in english, pol sci, and other humanities courses, i got in ... to make it more dramatic, i also got graduate research assistantship :D
