What is the deal with Google's syncing apps? "Backup and Sync" still misses features like Files On-Demand/Smart Sync available in OneDrive/Dropbox and deleting files online pollutes the local trash/recycle bin

They switched from per-user licenses to per-computer licenses. I am not sure how this works with previous lifetime licenses. With my lifetime Arq 5 license I can upgrade to a single computer license with 50% discount and to a 5 computer fam

I am currently using Feedly with their recent "Leo" feature and it is really interesting how well it works. It requires some setup and imho is a bit expensive (Pro+ plan required) but this announcement should give a good overview

The Dropbox client is just vastly more reliable. I never had any sync issues with it and it is still the only one which supports both Delta sync and LAN sync and their automatic "Smart Sync" still works better than what Google off

I think, it is strange that there are so few passively cooled high end laptops. Most devices with these ~5 Watt Intel CPUs are in cheap Chromebooks with <= 8 GiB RAM or in expensive ~2000 € devices with weird hybrid tablet form factors.

I wonder why each of the three major BSDs ended up with their own hypervisor implementation instead of sharing their code. There is now bhyve on FreeBSD, vmm on OpenBSD and now also NVMM on NetBSD. Is this kind of diversity a good thing?
