The swearing adds some color to the book, but it definitely doesn't take away from the content. I'm OK with this tradeoff as long as it becomes more accessible to students.

Are they competing with WebEx, Skype, or Slack? Looks like a compelling B2B offering from Amazon. I bet they'll have an accompanying hardware to go with this in the coming months.

Obviously they did, hence the "It's post-modern web development." No need for snark.

Completely off topic: What are the chances that I would type "brave" to search on this page precicely at the moment the cartoon playing for my children on the TV will say "brave".

Regaining control presumes you had control to begin with. I'd wager having little control over attention has been the default mode for couple generations. The world is full of distractions that start from childhood. Gaining control ove

Presumably to create mood and context for his story. He's telling a story not publishing a research paper, a little creative license is appropriate.

I sometimes buy domain names on my phone, late at night, in my bed. Usually after hours of laying in bed building out a business in my mind and iterating over and over to see where it leads. Buying the domain name seems to be the last step

How practical is it to get into programming for VR for cost sensitive developers? I feel like this space will not blow up until the tools and resources become fairly accessible for the common developer.

It's probably because you have not heard it often enough to just not think about it. If I were to describe a sound as being rectangle, it just doesn't make sense and I have to think about it and try to interpret it. The extra effo

"So, sorry to tell you guys, but it's not innovative, it's lucky." If only luck made slack, then doesn't that mean Microsoft will need to be equally lucky to succeed?

Well, now that slack has so "genuinely" welcomed microsoft as a competitor, I don't think they can turn around and argue the opposite for the same offering.

Perhaps the original iPhone falls in this category. It did less (games, apps) than the competition when it launched, but soon the same product overtook the competition when the app store and API was released.

Some of the commenters here assumed that the message was automated, you're making it abundantly clear thats was not the case. In fact she defended her position. Did you try to escalate it? This is absurd.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. Collecting data to improve the software is a great virtue, but not providing a reliably way to turn it off is definitely not cool.

It continues to surprise me how (why?) Netflix builds their infrastructure on their #1 competitors platform. They're basically funding Amazon Prime. They're undoubtedly smart, so they must have a lot of incentive in doing so.
