This is my "one week" MVP of a whitewater kayaking/rafting guidebook. I strongly believe a startup is about testing hypothesis's and a single week & single feature MVP is what I have done to test my hypothesis.

TYPO should be iguide-whitewater.com

Why would you love if software required a degree? Would it make you feel more special? I recently got a job as a software engineer without a degree. And I can get plenty of interviews.

Have you ever worked as a manual laborer? I spent most of my life working as a lawn keeper, warehouse laborer, retail associate and construction worker. Building software is such a breath of fresh air. Even the bullshit that comes with it i

Without having a degree, I feel coding challenges are the only way I can truly compete.

Do unions really provide a better work experience for the worker? Genuine question.

So what percent DO you guys think is fair?
281.
by hpen 6y ago
Fair point. I just don't know that right now at the beginning will be a good time. A solid ecosystem can make all the difference.

Why create web apps in Rust? Won't that slow down development?
283.
by hpen 6y ago
I think most software is built with some level of tolerance for performance, and the stack / algorithms / feature implemented are chosen to meet that tolerance. Basically, as hardware gets faster, it's seen as a way to make s

You're too optimistic that the money will be injected in the local economy. Apple clearly doesn't know what to do with all of it

by hpen 6y ago
No I'm talking about google results that explicitly say "Ad"
286.
by hpen 6y ago
Do you mean 10 Billion or zero?
287.
by hpen 6y ago
Really depends on the search. But looking for any type of product you get more ads then organic quality results

I think we should only tax income over some number like $100k. If the money doesn't feed you then it's should be taxed higher. Nobody needs a nice car. People need food

by hpen 6y ago
I'm not concerned about the "evil rich". Apparently you are though. I'm more concerned about how that tax revenue could benefit society.

"How much in taxes does the average worker pay over their lifetime?" How much does the average worker make over their lifetime? Not fucking 200Bn
291.
by hpen 6y ago
Yes but look at google now. Full of ads
292.
by hpen 6y ago
That is just sick. They should pay a tax rate at least as high as what the average worker pays if not higher

Yeah the animations make my eyes hurt

I'm actually looking forward to more code generation tools. Things like wiring up a button aren't stimulating and I wouldn't mind that level of programming becoming automated.

Very interesting

Im working on a project management tool called kanception.io it is free and in beta now

Cool idea but probably too difficult. I tinker with ML but don't have that kind of ability.

With a google search I found several free keyword planners and backlink checkers
