The issue wasn't that the product misbehaved. The issue was the personalities/ethics of the people involved are grating/questionable at best. Having worked with them, I honestly question their judgements. Since one or more

I've been using pfSense for many years, generally happy with it. The wireguard fiasco made sense to me when I saw some former colleagues involved (including 1 I hired at a previous gig, and one I interviewed before he joined the co).

Fans do wind up on heavy CPU/GPU load. The HP laptop cooler is quite a bit better than many I've had before, and the fan winds down about as quickly. I've brought this laptop to outdoor (!) karate class when we had some zoom

The US spy networks in China have been "rolled up"[1]. They don't exist in a usable form (if the news is to be believed). As for the "until Joe Biden" bit, er ... no. Trump was kicked out in large part due to his

I think this depends upon the language intrinsic support for vectors/vector operations. I would (generally) prefer to specify operations using a simpler, more concise syntax, and have the compiler map that into the hardware. The prob

From my perspective, this is sadly, the likely explanation. The media and opposition party was so worked up, that anything at all that came from Trump or his admin, was simply wrong, a lie, etc. That, in part, was why no one took this thin

A non-scientific thing I've been doing for the last few months at the day job, with Julia. 1) querying a time series database of systems metrics at scale for (large) fleets. This is being done via a JSON API. Directly in Julia. 2) Cr

Just this past week, git lfs was throwing smudge errors for me. Not really sure what the issue was, I followed the recommendations to disable, pull, and re-enable. And got them again. So I disabled. And left it disabled. Not a solution.
