Europe has been trying to build good relations with Russia for as long as anyone can remember. But in the end it takes two to tango.

Considering Russia annexed Crimea in a matter of days, I don't think that gives Germany enough time to fix their equipment operational.

If there was no Cold War, or there was one that Russia would've won against Western Europe, half of Europe would still be occupied as the USSR wouldn't have fallen.

It's really not so far-fetched to think Russia would annex a Baltic state sometime in the future. They've shown they have the capability and political will to annex similarly prepared countries' territories. It all boils down

Didn't we go through the whole Cold War because of the conflicts in geopolitical interests between the West and the USSR states? Today's Russia seems more assertive again with their geopolitical interests.

I don't think clicking outside of the box works anymore. You really have to reopen the page in incognito mode in order to read it, if you don't want to register & sign in.

Yes, you're right, it should be an integer comparison check ultimately. > TypeScript essentially does that, except that the tags are not going to be optimized by the compiler What do you mean by this? Typescript erases type informat

I started building straight away from day 1, getting a decent REST API together is surprisingly easy. You really don't need to understand most of the advanced type level stuff to stay productive. Maybe you tried to go for too high abst

Ironically, Haskell pioneers exactly in programming scientific research while the rest of the languages focus more on the linguistics rather than the science.

I'm using the same method as you. What are you using as the SQL and REST API libs? I'm using Servant and a library called Squeal for Postgres.

Actually, Haskell compilation produces more type information available at runtime than Typescript's compiler does. For example, algebraic data types turn into tagged unions at runtime on Haskell, allowing pattern matching to operate on

Actor model is not for parallel computing, it's for concurrency. It introduces unnecessary overhead for parallel computing and is not ideal for it. For concurrency, on the other hand, it's probably superior to anything else out th

I'm aware, I'm running Elixir in production, including custom macros. That said, even the macro system pales in comparison with say, Haskell, in terms of expressiveness. Haskell has such a depth of constructs and allows highly so

Able to abstract concisely at a high level, provides decent facilities for modeling business logic in a succinct yet correct manner etc. Elixir and Erlang both lack a type system and maintain a focus on keeping the language constructs simpl

Neither of those is arguably very expressive as a language though. It's the runtime and the built-in libraries around it (OTP) that holds the power.
