To all those that think this is no better than a regex: Yesterday a company invited 7 new users to their account using their email addresses. 3 of those addresses had typos in the domain names which this service would have caught. As it was

Our (Irish) politicians have run away from lots of hard decisions recently but I really wish they'd have the balls (population, economy, armed forces) to tell the US government to fuck off occasionally.

(grew up in the UK, live in Ireland) I don't consider the U.S. as the same as China or Russia (or North Korea, etc) but I don't consider them in the same league as any European country either. Having said that, I think the U.S. is

Summary: Cloud66 is a provisioning service for Ruby on Rails (it installs the servers, databases etc onto your AWS/Rackspace/DigitalOcean server). It seems Cloud66 has started destroying some virtual servers without permission.

Why would you want to do this? What's the motivation? If it's "this is a great marketing strategy" well, um, maybe but hopefully you have better ways getting your customers to hear of you. If it's "this would be a fair way of matching value

I thought the most fascinating thing (mostly because I hadn't considered it, despite having 2 kids) was that babies aren't conscious at birth or even, optimistically, before 2-5months. That's kinda neat.
