I like this approach. RailsAdmin/ActiveAdmin never appealed to me as a good solution. Nitpick: These are admin interfaces. NOT dashboards.

Thanks for making that clearer. I'm not yet convinced that a multinational could have strong enough controls that 1 person on a team has the password but another person doesn't. In reality, this stuff get's mixed around a lot

Microsoft are at the centre of another case which will really decide how badly EU-US trade is affected: > Microsoft stands in contempt of court right now for refusing to hand over to US authorities, emails held in its Irish data centre.

I thought that too but, if it's too bright to look at, you can't hit it. Or maybe you have retreat beyond your weapons effective range just so you aim at it. Though I'm sure the enemy would have eventually found some welding

Founders who treat their SaaS customers as prisoners will quickly find their company gains a very bad reputation and struggles with customer acquisition. The only way to retain customers is to continue to provide them with value

Just to repeat and highlight this: THE BOOK ISN'T ABOUT TEACHING RUBY-THE-LANGUAGE I've yet to even find a mention of Ruby-the-language on the site.

The character's name is 'Ruby' but I don't expect the book itself to be any sort of introduction to ruby-the-language! I'm a backer — I expect the book might contain some Ruby code because it's pretty readable

Is there a table of TLD's ranked by nameserver reliability? It seems like a useful thing for those of considering something more exotic

I wonder how the F-35 performs against other current generation fighters like the Eurofighter or Saab Gripen. And considering the costs, it would need to be several times better, which I doubt. I suspect both aircraft could out-manoeuvre it

I was disappointed too but then a comparison might not be fair. Most swimmers have had a lot of frontcrawl practice and it would take a lot of commitment to achieve the same level in this stroke

No, I wouldn't be convinced. There's a big difference between the two kicks and being underwater is a lot more efficient.

It's fascinating, and I've always wondered about the emergence of new strokes as we begin to understand bio- and fluid-mechanics better That said, I can't see myself doing a 2.4km swim using this stroke :-/

There are no plans to change the corporate tax rate and the EU have no jurisdiction in these matters. What is happening, rightly so, is the dismantling of some mechanisms which allowed large corporations to avoid paying the corporation tax

also, what a sad indictment of the tech sector when someone thinks they need to spend time practising interview questions instead of actually, ya know, programming. Crazy stuff

Stop drilling pointless "interview questions" and instead prefer employers that value your ability to do the actual work. If you can build and ship side-projects your preferred employer will hire because of that, not some tricky

LOL at the idea that every Rails programmer will be switching to Clojure or Elixir! While they might be interesting languages (particularly Elixir) I don't see any 10x advantages their web stacks have over Rails for the typical "m

Thanks for writing this analysis. I think the pricing changes are long overdue and great news for developers. I hope Heroku gets to focus more on the people who understand how many hours/year it takes to run a server safely and securel

You are not a 1960's typist. Lots of replies here will tell you to practice typing, or learn your IDE etc. That's all tactical stuff but I think biggest gains come from not writing the wrong code to start with. Understand the user
