Developer starfuckers. I'm not saying YC is without value, I think for certain people it's fantastic. Not everyone knows how to build a business out of the box. But the obsession with certain types of getting into YC is purely so they can b

Really, then what exactly would you call it? You are essentially subject to all manner of ridiculous punishment for what would be considered minor or non-offenses in most free countries. Most of their elections are uncontested. You can dres

I somewhat disagree with homebrew being thrown in with Fink and Macports. The benefit to homebrew is that it doesn't require having package maintainers to babysit packages and make sure the binaries work and are updated. You basically just

Agreed, which is why when it comes to testing a legit setup, I usually do it on a virtual machine. Or of course one of those $5 Digital Ocean VPSes.

Well for one, you probably don't want them to be apt-get in terms of installing binaries. We had that with Fink, etc. and it sucked and was outdated quickly. Homebrew is pretty solid though, probably better than what Apple would come up wit

Yeah, you're right, we don't necessarily know the details, but if I were the gym owner and I felt like I was in the right, I'd stand up for myself rather than cower, close down all my Facebook pages to not face criticism, and tell everyone

They don't see themselves in that market...yet, and the trends don't look good in that direction either. As we all know, Apple has continued to shy away from actual computing in recent years. Now if you could do something like this for Linu

I'm one of the whitest, blond-haired, blue-eyed crackers you'll ever meet and when I had a large beard, even I got profiled. For a while, I understood it, just kind of shrugged it off. In 2013, it's getting a lot harder to do so when it's s

While you made a lot of mistakes here, it's also pretty frustrating that there's a good deal of VCs who are basically only looking for the next Twitter. Why would anyone think viral growth would be realistic for this product? How does one a

I run a site that is not technical at all, it's a legal site related to divorcing fathers. Last year the site had 1,111,795 total visits and 5429 of them were from Opera. So I'm not sure who is this community that cares that much about Oper

You're WAAAAAAY past the fundamental problem IMO. The problem is not the king, it's the entire court. The US now has a dysfunctional relationship with a federal government that continually grabs powers they don't have.

That's a BS argument, that's like saying Windows servers are better than Linux because they cost more. There's no reason to distrust them SOLELY because they are cheap. You're getting 1/4th the cores, that's why it's so cheap.
