Can someone please explain this a little more? My basic understanding is that they incorrectly opened a PHP tag and exposed the code. If that's the case, wouldn't the page have appeared broken in development? Or have been found during te

For some reason I am reminded for Steve Jobs' Stanford graduation speech when he says "you will die one day." In the video, it seems to roll off the audience as a cliche. But, it seems to have tempered much of his career with fearlessness

Amazon Simple Pay is quite good and easy to set-up as well. There are no monthly fees and you get a lot of control over the subscriptions, but the payment experience is hosted by Amazon unfortunately.

On 9/11/2001 it meant something to be a terrorist. However, these days it means nothing. Everything the government doesn't like is a potential terror threat, and every person acting against it could be a terrorist. There's a big differenc

Perhaps the government did avert a short-term disaster. But it's unremarkable that they distributed billions to companies who effectively held taxpayers hostage, threatening "if we go down, you go down with us." There was no way to not giv

There's another name for rejection therapy -- it's called sales work. Typically it's the kind of sales work hackers dislike. But plenty of people have built good careers around a sunny tolerance for rejection. Real estate agents, insuranc

A couple interesting recurring themes from advice lists like these is that failure is ok, and that often times no one buys into a project that will later become successful. This is consistent with my experience as well. I've had probably
