Recommendations include: 1) ditching the toxic negative attitude. It pushes away interest. 2) spend an afternoon or a few bucks on a web designer making your site look better than the "time cube" site. It practically screams crack

Might be overthinking it a bit. The biters are a game mechanic to add time pressure to build your defenses up to par with your factory expansion. Sort of a deadline to stop you from navel gazing too much. You can disable them entirely at ga

Biters are there to add pressure. After you get the swing of things in Peaceful mode, a Normal game is much more fun. Then, give Death World a try. It's the most compelling challenge in video games I've ever found. Bring a friend

E-scootering around Berlin as a tourist this past fall was incredibly fun. Fast, cheap, and the lack of responsibility to lock up a bike or find a specific bike rental return spot is very freeing. It's such an effective way to explore

My 9 year old is comfortable messing around in Unity, Scratch, and Blender. They're super beginner friendly and the amount of free tutorials available today is staggering. Flash was also a platform, though you were still reliant on a h

The premise of this article is just weirdly wrong and out of touch. There are monstrously huge creative spaces on the modern internet, powered by better and better tools. YouTube. Unity. Scratch. Roblox. Twitch. Itch.io. Blender. Minecraft.

I agree, F# is hard to learn. It took me a few months of tinkering to be able to express myself in it. Good entry points: Don Syme - his "F# Code I Love" talk has been recorded a few times: https://www.youtube.com/

Oculus Quest dev kits will be hard to get for a while, but if you're a small developer, the easiest place to start developing VR is on the PC/Rift. The SDKs are the same! Unity and Unreal will definitely be supported.

Fetuses are seen as a human life by those who oppose abortion. That's a nuance the parent poster seems not to get. If you don't understand why POLITICAL_LABEL_X opposes POLITICAL_TOPIC_Y, it's unproductive to assume they&#x

You lack diversity of perspective. Abortion is definitely harmful to a human life. (Some) religious conservatives believe gay marriage is harmful to society. Before reducing everything to partisan politics, try some empathy.

Jeeze, looking at the product page it's really hard to spot the seller and make sure you've chosen a legit vendor. Also, Anchors are a great idea. I'm a VR developer and my desk is pretty crowded with headsets, so I just orde

I'm curious if dev salaries in Canada aren't competitive with the US due to more immigration. When I recently visited a large tech company in Canada, I was struck by how much of the team was from everywhere but US and Canada.

I work on a C/C++/Lua server stack, so this is right up my alley. But as a MSVC native I'd have to spend hours trying to decipher your Makefile to port it to Windows before I could even evaluate it.

The keys to great beginner strength training are low reps and linear progression. Let's say you're an average male and start squatting 135 pounds in 3 sets of 5 reps. Next time you lift 140. Then 145. Etc. Once you reach the 300lb neighborh
